AABCO Service Appliance Repair Wins 2011 Quality Award, Is Nationally Ranked Customer’s Choice Contractor

Gold Canyon, AZ – May 17, 2012 – AABCO Service Appliance Repair prides itself on providing quality appliance repair service, and Arizona residents seem to agree. Customers were recently asked, “Based on this recent service experience, how likely would you be to recommend this contractor to family or friends?” Their answers resulted in a 2011 Quality Combo Bonus Award from American Home Shield.

The Quality Combo Bonus is part of American Home Shield’s Contractor Quality Bonus Program. It is awarded each year according to strict qualifications, including a minimum number of service work orders, completed survey responses, and ranking scores. Only 180 awards are given out each year, and the competition is fierce. American Home Shield has one of the largest contractor networks in the nation, with more than 10,000 independent home-service contractors. Out of this field, AABCO Service Appliance Repair ranked an astonishing 14th in its category. According to Janine Swank at AABCO, “Our business is founded on valuing our customers and respecting their time, so we’re incredibly pleased to have won this award.”

AABCO Service Appliance Repair has been installing and repairing appliances since 1967. This long experience means that AABCO technicians come prepared with the knowledge and parts needed to make most repairs. If necessary, AABCO can source hard-to-find parts quickly from a local vendor – there’s no need to wait weeks for appliance repairs. AABCO technicians begin service each day at 7 am, and offer only two hour service blocks. “The speed of our service is absolutely reflected in our customer satisfaction,” says Janine Swank at AABCO.

AABCO promises to always give its customers a clear explanation of any repair service that is required, and to never begin any work without express permission. For more information about AABCO Service Appliance Repair, visit their website at http://www.aabcoservice.com/.

A lot of dust and fibers come off of your clothes and are trapped within the lint filter. That’s good obviously since that’s what the filter is there for, but did you know that some of the lint makes it through or around the filter and sticks to the inside of your dryer and to your ducts.

I’m sure you already know that you need to clean your lint trap after every load, but did you know that lint can accumulate in the area where the lint trap is situated? Small gaps around the filter itself, or a damaged filter can allow the lint through. Every now and then it’s a good idea when cleaning the lint filter to remove it completely and use a flashlight to peer into the area where the lint filter goes to make sure that there is not a large accumulation of lint. If there is, you can use a vent brush and a vacuum cleaner to remove it, (see the tips on dryer duct maintenance for specifics).

Don’t forget to check your lint filter for cracks and tears, and if you find any replace it immediately to keep the lint from building up within your dryer and your ducts. Too much lint buildup is a fire hazard.

Your dishwasher will function well for many years if it is used properly. The following tips indicate some of the guidelines to be followed during the usage of the dishwasher in order to maximize its life:

Do not overload the dishwasher.

Always ensure that the dishwasher is set to the recommended temperature when you start using it.

Do some pre-cleaning which to get rid of caked-on food particles and other sticky and pastry remains together with unwanted foreign material.

Do not use the dishwasher to wash every utensil. Sometimes, you should physically wash the dishes, particularly ones that do not fit in well.

Avoid packing the dishes tightly together. The water should reach every part of the dishwasher without any obstructions.

When you are about to switch on the dishwasher, make sure that the door is closed securely.

These tips may seem like common sense, but if you want your dishwasher to continue working like brand-new it’s a good idea to keep them in mind.

It is important to keep your dryer venting ducts neat and clean, a buildup of lint in the duct can cause a fire. Even if it doesn’t cause a fire, a buildup can put more strain on your dryer by causing backpressure which leads to slow drying times and shortens the lifespan of your dryer. All you have to do is follow some simple steps and have the proper equipment on-hand: a vent brush and a vacuum cleaner with a hose attachment.

Unplug your dryer and detach the vent pipes. Use the vent brush to loosen the accumulated debris within the ducting and then use the vacuum cleaner to remove it all. When you are done, don’t forget to reattach the venting securely.

Check your vents frequently and perform this maintenance whenever you see the lint building up.

You rely on your dishwasher to take the drudgery out of cleaning your dishes, so don’t let it fall into disrepair. The following tips will help you keep it running for many years to come:

* Note – To avoid accidents, the power should be completely switched off before you start any cleaning.

Clean the outside with a wet cloth or sponge which is soft enough to avoiding scratching the surface.

Check your manufacturer’s manual for instructions on how to clean the filter at the base of your dishwasher.

When washing many utensils, divide them in reasonable numbers and avoid over packing the dishwasher. When packed too tightly they will obstruct the spray and you will be left with dirty utensils.

Giant utensils can sometimes fall out of the utensil area and interfere with the cleaning spray. It’s best to wash these utensils by hand.

Every dishwasher is different, so read your specific manual for recommendations. Keep it someplace safe where you can get to it easily and refer back to it often. If you follow these tips you just may avoid needing a dishwasher repair in the future.

Let’s face it, your stove is about the most useful kitchen appliance you could ever own, (although I’m a might partial to the dishwasher myself), and you want to keep it in good condition so that you don’t need to worry about it breaking down and forcing you to call the nice people at AABCO to request an appliance repair stove appointment. So what’s the best way to keep the appliance repair technician at bay? Why cleaning your stove on a regular basis of course!

A Clean Stove is a Happy Stove
After each and every use you should always wipe the stove down with a soft cloth or a wet sponge. Make sure that the burners have been allowed to cool down completely before you start your cleaning. You don’t want to burn yourself! The next time you go to make dinner you’ll be thankful you remembered to clean after each use. If you allow the gunk from cooking to build up, the next time you go to clean the stove it will take you a lot of time and elbow-grease to remove it, and let’s face it, no one likes to cook on a dirty stove.

Scrub with a soft cloth or sponge
When you clean your stove make sure that you use a sponge or soft cloth so that you don’t scratch the finish on your appliance. Scratching the finish causes rust to form where the bare metal has been exposed. If you encounter a stubborn patch of grease or baked on food, try using a commercial cleaner and letting the patch soak for a while before scrubbing again. Always make sure that you have adequate ventilation when using any sort of chemical to clean your stove.

Don’t Forget The Oven
For the stove top and the burners your normal dish soap is probably sufficient, but for the interior of the oven you will most likely need a commercial cleaner. Be sure to follow the directions on the can and maintain adequate ventilation when using any cleaner. Most stoves should be wiped down after every use and the oven cleaned once a month to maintain their just-like-new appearance.

Keeping your stove clean and maintained properly will save you a lot of time and money in the long-run.

Although this isn’t technically a maintenance issue, I thought we should address this common problem. Your washing machine fills up with water but instead of starting the agitator cycle it just keeps filling right? Leaving you feeling like Noah without the Ark! Unfortunately, this is usually caused by a defective water level control switch and we recommend that you have a qualified washing machine repair technician replace it with a working model, thankfully it just so happens that we are experts at this particular problem. =)

Of course, we do want to give you a tip since this is the tips section so we will point out that you can now purchase and install a flood stop system for your washer that will prevent a flood from happening if something goes wrong with your water level switch.

To keep your refrigerator running well, you should clean its condenser coils at least two times a year, unless the coils are on the back. Pull out the fridge and unplug it; turn off the breaker if it is a built-in. Remove the cover panel to reveal the coils underneath. Clean out all of the dust and debris, being careful not to bend anything or be too rough. You can simply use the narrow end of a vacuum or a refrigerator brush. Replace the cover when through, plug it back in and turn on your breaker.
